Defining the "Earn This" Mentality in America Today
I do not think the men who scaled the 200-foot cliffs of Pont du Hoc under enemy fire did so just to allow a foreign invasion of their country eight decades later.
EXCERPT:
I returned home late Saturday evening from another memorable trip to the Cotentin Peninsula of Normandy, France. It will never stop being emotional to stand upon hallowed and sacred ground where men from America, the UK, Canada, France, the Netherlands, Poland, and Belgium came together to liberate a continent from tyranny. This year, I had the blessed opportunity to escort 25 college students, courtesy of Young America's Foundation. They were blown away.
So, here it was on June 6, 2025, as I was visiting Utah Beach, in America illegal immigrants took to our streets in Los Angeles in full revolt against our nation. Worse, American elected officials aligned themselves with criminal illegal immigrants in our country. I must ask, is that how we define "Earn This" in our modern American society? I do not think the men who scaled the 200-foot cliffs of Pont du Hoc under enemy fire did so just to allow a foreign invasion of their country eight decades later. I do not believe that the Bedford Boys of the 29th Infantry Division gave their lives so that we would see an uprising of those illegally in our country. By all accounts of the progressive socialist leftists, this is an insurrection by foreign entities.

great article…we retired army O5’s can’t shake our wonderful capabilities. hard to be humble i guess lol.
reason i’m responding is i’ve been to point du hoc. very humbling place. i was in heidelberg at campbell for a few years. not at the participatory level you attended here but quite an experience to say the least.
‘earn this’ is a very well written peace. you covered quite an era here that embraces much good and travail. born in ‘53 gave opportunity and a much encompassing length of time afterwards to realize that being born #2 in the final draft both altered by dream of becoming a forest ranger or snooped by the draft. only gives credence to who’s really in control. ROTC wasn’t a bad gig after all.
anyway, just a reach out to say thanks for your thought provoking work. I’d like to think folks like us seemingly have ‘earned this’. fortunately we didn’t die trying as luck would have it.
Whooah.

also amazing how many cowards we have in political office these days, they need to go back to whatever life they had before they rose to their current level of shame.
